Melting by the "cold pot" method

The method consists in the simultaneous heating of the charge and cooling of the crucible in which the metal is placed. Melting of the charge on the cooled copper substrate is possible by applying high heating power to achieve a sufficient temperature gradient between the “cold crucible” and the charge being melted. The molten metal is coagulated only at the point of contact with the cooled copper substrate. This solution eliminates the use of crucibles made of graphite, ceramics or other materials that could react with the molten charge.
