Melting of non-ferrous metals

For melting metals such as copper, brass, silver, aluminum, gold, and most precious metals, crucibles that contain graphite, and thus the carbon it contains, can be used.

Melting of non-ferrous metals in induction furnaces is usually done in graphite or graphite-carbide crucibles with improved durability.

In contrast to resistance or gas furnaces, induction furnaces are characterized by much higher heating dynamics. This is due to the fact that the temperature is generated directly in the crucible and charge, so there are no losses resulting from the transfer of heat energy through the air.
