Fusing inserts into plastics
The method of hot pressing inserts, i.e. metal parts with an internal thread for screw insertion and usually a mottled surface on the outside, is used in the production of plastic housings and plastic parts. The use of such elements allows the use of standard metric or inch screws and is a more durable alternative to self-tapping screws.
