Tempering is the process of minimizing internal stresses caused by hardening or other heat treatments.
Unlike tempering which involves heating a component completely, induction heating enables a selected part to be tempered while leaving another part unaffected by the temperature. The automated process of induction tempering allows for the programming of the heating temperature characteristics depending on the size and type of material to be tempered.
